My name is Heather Lansman. I have been teaching for 16 years. I am the school administrative assistant. I have taught at Spencer, early head start. I grew up in Jefferson and attended Jefferson-Scranton for High School, and Iowa State University for College. One thing I love about this school is I love the littles mixed with the big favorite thing is watching the interactions between the students of different ages. For example: When our seniors sit and eat lunch with the kindergarten.
I am a proud 1984 graduate of Glidden-Ralston. I attended Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa and received my Bachelor of Arts in Education. After several years of teaching I attended Drake University and received my Master of Science in Educational Leadership and Administration as well as My Specialist degree with superintendent certification. I served for 10 years as the building principal at GR and am now serving as superintendent. One of the things I take the most pride in is the fact that 13 members of my immediate family have graduated from this school district. I live in Glidden with my wife Angela and our family. I enjoy spending time with my sons, daughters and grandchildren...

I am so excited to be in my 17th year with the district and my seventh year serving as the PK-12 Principal. Previously I have taught preschool, middle school reading, Guidance Counselor, and School Improvement Coordinator. There are many things I love about our district but most of all I love the idea that we are a family. Students get a tremendous balance of top notch academic experiences, as well as, many opportunities that make them a more well rounded individual.
